What a way to start our 2024-2025 World Trip!
Mathieu and I have been talking about this trip since COVID-19 first struck. Throughout the lockdowns, we would fantasize about all the places we wanted to visit after things returned to normal.
Now, with a combined two bachelor’s degrees, one master’s, and four years of work experience later, we are finally ready to make our dream a reality!
In mid-October 2024, we started our trip in Mexico City, meeting up with Mathieu’s sister who lives there, and his mom and cousin. We were extremely fortunate to a) have a nice place to crash for free and b) have a local guide us for this first part of the trip and help organize activities. After arriving, we immediately embarked on a road trip, driving through three surrounding states, then took a bus down south to Oaxaca where we joined in the Dia de los Muertos celebrations.
